Infrastructure

At Los Suenos Island Resort residents can enjoy the comforts of home with the availability of fresh water. Presently, we have three active wells inside of the development.   Additionally, the hydrology study and layout is completed for the off island water upgrade.  The existing water source is sufficient for several years.  We are planning the required upgrade based on our masterplan.  We have purchased the off island water sites (3 wells) and are currently working to receive the approval from the government office overseeing the management of water in Nicaragua.  We anticipate to have the additional well and water pipes install within a year.

Telecommunications Print E-mail
Infrastructure

We have completed exhaustive research and costing over the past year. The final plan features a redundant fiber optic link within the community, and a fiber optic link from your community to the  world. This will allow fiber optic internet access, voice communications, television, alarm and security systems and movies on demand.

This system is far superior to satellite communication offered at every other Nicaraguan resorts, because it will not suffer from rain fade and satellite dishes at the edge of satellite orbits.

Construction will run concurrent to the installation of electrical conduits.

March 2006 New Concrete Power Pole Delivery

The upgrade of electrical service to North American standards is going well. This 3 km section of concrete poles attaches to the 3 phase municipal line on the Salinas Town Main road. We are adding spreaders to the top and changing the wire to 3 phase. The final 5.5 kms to the end of Tamarindo Beach requires new concrete poles, and from there another 1.5 km to Los Suenos Island Resort. Electrical services will be underground -- no unsightly poles, transformers or wires in the development. Only 2 ground based transformers will be required.

Electricity supplied by the power company (Union Fenosa) is called the utility in many countries. Electricity is measured in terms of voltage and current. Using the analogy of water supply, voltage is analogous to pressure, and current is analogous to flow. Voltage is measured in Volts (V). Current is measured in Amperes (A). Power is Voltage multiplied by current, measured in Watts (W) or thousands of watts, kilowatts (kW). One kW is equivalent to 1.34 horsepower.

The individual residences will be offered an battery backup system and a seamless kohler backup generator system.  The power in Nicaragua is a prior for the current government and we should look forward to improved power servicing.

Sewage Treatment Print E-mail

The engineers design for a sewage treatment plant is under way. A strong submittal is a foreign supplied plant that features virtually no discharge of dirty water. It reuses the treated brown water to irrigate the plants and grass. This sewage system is used widely in Central and South America and is the preferred system of the Nicaraguan environmental authority. Engineering details are being worked around this system. Los Suenos Island Resort will have a well designed, complete waste water treatment facility located in the area know as "la pena".
