Early August, we hired a local Los Suenos fisherman to take us out and fish the local waters in preparation for operating a sport fishing operation from the resort. We had a fantastically successful day with many instances of boiling waters around our boat. After pulling in several Mackerel and White Fin Tuna, we headed further out in search of Marlin and Dorado.

At fourteen miles offshore, which is quite close, we found many varieties of big fish jumping.  The Los Suenos area is unspoiled and virtually never fished, yet offers the same high quality sport fishing experience that is a $500 million dollar industry in Costa Rica, only 90 miles south. We chased the billfish for several hours but we were poorly equipped to land one....but we returned.

Being convinced of the potential of the island waters, we secured our building lot and have begun extensive planning to offer guided fish charters to whoever is interested. If you are interested, please contact me through Nicaprojects.
