Surfers are discovering the well-shaped waves right off the beach of Los Suenos. Four particular spots offer beautiful waves that make spectacular boogie boarding and surfing. It seems that these waves are now being discovered. Over the last three years while working on our development, there has never been surfers in the water on consecutive days. On May 7 2008, 12 surfers were in the water and the next day, the number had increased to 20. As we continue to develop the roads, water sources and accommodations, we are sure that more surfboards will appear.
A recent expatriate surfer from Oregon, Nicolas Reid, has been in Nicaragua developing his expert knowledge on the surf waves off the north western shores of Nicaragua. His site is http://www.surftoursnicaragua.com. Nicolas is a trail blazer in his research of the surf in the Suenos Beach Resort/Tamarindo Beach area and offers guided tours at all skill levels. We actively support this.
A community is forming on the island as we speak, with fish, meat, lobster, vegetables and other groceries purchased across the southern river opening in the town of Puerto Sandino. For theatre, art galleries, restaurant variety, night life, movies, bakeries, banks, piazzas, shopping, universities, language schools, hotels, supermarkets one need only travel 20+ minutes. High quality beach land in front of good surf with city amenites minutes away... all within 1.5 hours of the USA....that is a buy. What could be better than a surf community for the nucleus?
In addition, we are pleased to announce the commencement of a sport fishing operation at Los Suenos Resort. Have you ever caught a 3 foot fish just 8 feet off the beach? Have you ever experienced boiling ocean water... everywhere you go? The Rio Tamarindo has been a well known Nicaraguan fishing destination for years and now we are providing direct access to the best fishing in Nicaraguan waters.
The access is probably the best in the country to a beach resort. One drives one + hour west from the newly renovated international airport on a newly paved, scenic highway. One passes PriceSmart (Costco) along the way for all your basic needs.
Here are some more secrets: a casino is in the early stages of construction just 25 minutes away and Walmart and Four Seasons have reportedly bought within 20 miles. The cruise ships are now stopping 40 miles to the north and the local airport is supposed to start taking scheduled flights next year. The federal government is focusing foreign investment seminars on how best to develop the beaches of the Pacific Coast, which are beautiful property. It is all here. |
